Some of my favorite EBAY stores:

~Vintage clothing~

~Vintage Print advertising and/or newspapers~

~Exotic Goods/clothes~
It was family home evening at my parents house. The kids played and most of the adults put together the fancy new swingset/climbing wall. Molly loved all the attention and having space to run...a lot.

So I have BIG plans for turning my side yard into a patio garden paradise. The space is 8'x30', with 6' tall fence/gates on the south and north ends and the 20'+ tall walls of the houses on the east and west sides. About half way back on the west side is a 2'x2' cement slab with our neighbors A/C unit on it, just north of that, directly in the middle of the space, is a dividing fence which we are planning on dismantling. So you can see the area has some challenges.

At the North end of the space I want to plant yellow climbing roses and train them up and over the fence, then make a patio area with a picnic table and border that on either side with some tall colorful plants like sunflowers or hollyhocks or foxglove. From the center south side of the patio area we want to make a small gravel path leading to the gate at the south west side of the space.

In the middle of the space I want to plant grass and put a combination arbor/bench against the East wall and train sweetpeas or clematis or a wisteria over the top.

In the South east Corner I want to do a small corner spot with some ornamental grasses of varying height and color and then flowing down into some irises and from there plant a narrow flower/herb garden along the east wall...maybe with a bird path and/or bird feeder to attrack some wildlife. On the outside of the southwall, next to our front door, I would really love to plant a lilac or hydrangea or some other flowering shrub.

Its all so perfect in my head, but it changes everytime I look in a plant catalogue or see a gardening magazine. It will probably be 2 or 3 years by the time I've actually finished the project and another couple of years before it looks the way I imagine it (if it every does), but anything is better than the junk and weed infested pit that I see every time I look out the kitchen window.

To start with we've got to work on cleaning out all the garbage and junk that has accumulated in that space over 10 years, pull out all the weeds and grasses, dismantle the dividing fence, till fertilizer/compost into the soil, level the ground, mark out the space, go shopping, etc. The hubby nearly killed over when I told him I thought the whole thing (start to finish) would cost about $1,500 and take 2 summers. He said if I got to spend that on plants and patio furniture then he should be allowed to spend that much on guns...its a sacrifice I'm willing to make.

I'll take and post some "before" photos, just to show you how bad it really is. If you have any tips or suggestion, please feel free to drop me a line, I'll need all the help I can get.

Right now I'm getting a lot of inspiration from...

I've printed off a few of their plans for small flower gardens and I'm using that as a plant/space guide.

These are my TINY photos from when I took my niece to her gymnastic class.

It still feels like Monday, even though its Thursday.

For all you Cache Valley folks (all 2 of you) the USU Middle Eastern Dance Club is having their annual Spring Hafla show in the Student center auditorium at USU. Go here for more details...

Mike and I are going to that tomorrow night and then I will be going to the workshop that the show's guest star, Shems, is presenting on Saturday.

Here are some of my daffodils. I planted bulbs last fall and all the daffodils are blooming right now, about 40 flowers in all. My tulips are budding now and should be out in a week or so.

In other news, its snowing...again. Yesterday was sunny and warm and gorgeous and today its northern winds and snow. SUCK-O!

February was my sister, Holly's birthmonth. I took her out for lunch and here is her birthday mugshot...

Last month when Mike left for drill, my sister Holly invited me over to her house for dinner. Here are some pics taken with my crappy phone...

Mike's going away on drill tomorrow. Another weekend alone with just me and the furbies at the house. Saturday is my nephew, Walter's, baptism and he's asked me to play the piano so I'm going to my mom's tonight to practise.

His birthday was 2 weeks ago and Mike and I took him out to dinner and for birthday treats...

The next day Walter had a swim party at his Grandma's house, here are some pics I took on my phone...
