Wednesday 6/25/08
"Everywhere you go, wave to the tiny hidden cameras you insist are monitoring you and your colleagues."

Thursday 6/26/08
"Ask your boss, unexpectedly, "So, am I fired yet?"

And the most appropriate dare yet for me and my 'magic hands'
Friday 6/27/08 *my birthday*
"TGI...Extremem Dare Friday! Walk around the office asking if anyone has any ailments and offering them the benefit of your 'healing hands'."

Completely random side note: The Cure song "It's Friday I'm in love..." has been running through my head all morning and I haven't heard that song in a very very long time. But anything is better than Suzanne Vega's "Tom's Diner".

Ever wonder about those "National ______________ Day" Holidays? If you want to keep up to date on silly holidays check here...

Is there some secret to getting the links to work? When I use the 'insert link' button it shows it in the editing box but the link doesn't show up in the actual post.

"Send and email to your colleagues inquiring how many of them would be prepared to respond to an unsolicited email even if they thought it was a total waste of their time."

Still cloudy, still raining...only difference is that now there is snow on the mountains, down to the foothills. Hope it clears up tomorrow for Summerfest.

Don't assume I'm a breeder...

Attention naturally friendly people who strike up conversations EVERYWHERE you go...if you see me at my doctor's office please don't talk to me and especially don't feel like you can ask me if I'm pregnant just because I'm in the waiting room of the OB/GYN. Some of us don't feel like discussing our PRIVATE medical information with complete strangers. And no, just because you're a breeder, it doesn't mean that I am or necessarily want to be.

Don't get me wrong, I think mothers have a tough job and most of them do it beautifully. I may one day have a kid or kids of my own, who knows? People have the right to make their own decisions about having or not having want 6? That's fantastic, just make sure you can handle six and don't make me pay for it out of my taxes. And kids can be great, *coughwhenthey'reasleepcough*. Kids and think your own are cute but everyone else's are annoying.

I'm not an unfriendly or unreasonable person. If I felt like striking up a conversation I'd smile and say "hi" and respond when you move my stuff, sit down next to me, and start blabbering about how freaking great it is being knocked up and how far along are you? Do you really want me to respond? Cause this is what you'll get... "Sorry, I don't have kids and I'm not pregnant like you Mrs. Dugan wanna-be. I just popped in because I really felt like being poked, prodded, and getting my cervix know, just for the fun of it. Let's talk discuss this super-fun stuff in depth."

When did it become acceptable to start a converstion by making assumptions about a complete stranger and then asking them very personal questions? Please leave the personal questions until we've known each other at LEAST 10 minutes. Stick with the weather or current events, trust me on this.

Also since I'm venting...if someone calls you at your place of work about a project that you are responsible for and they are trying to get information from you to help you with said project and get things done the easy way, like you requested...FREAKING RETURN THE FRIGGIN PHONE CALLS...all 8 of them. I hate phones as much as the next person and I don't enjoy talking on them, I get that you want to avoid send me an email fax or stop buy...just get it, k? If you can't do that, don't call me all pissy wondering why this crap isn't finished...sorry, I failed mind-reading class.

Oh and just because you're an older man and I'm a younger woman, don't assume that I like "witty banter" and creepy flirting. Why is it that women in offices are required to be uber-professional and long suffering and men aren't? Its beneath me to participate in your pathetic attempt to feel young and hip and its almost beneath you, get a real personality and stop making the rest of us suffer. I am not your; doll, girlie, babe, honey, cutie, toots, secretary-girl, or darlin'. I am however the person who is going to sit down and politely explain to you that you walked in here all high and mighty but didn't know anything about what you were talking about. Then using very small words I'll explain what you need to know and you still won't get it because you are too dumb to figure it out.
My friend Sandee Andrews sent me a box of t-shirts. She send me one each of all the different new designs that they are selling now in support of their powdercoating company, Andrews Powdercoating. Check out the work that they do...

and then check out the new swag they have for sale...

Sandee and Scott are awesome!!!
The weather on Sunday is the best that its been for a while, sunny and somewhat warm. I went to my parents house to see the family and some of the kids came on a walk with me. Here are the photos from the walk.

And here is something that sums up how I feel about work lately...

It's cloudy and raining, again. This is the stormiest May/June that we've had in a while, I'm kind of sick of it. When its sunny and nice I want to get out and garden, but with all the rain and cruddy weather I've just lost all my motivation.

My hydrangeas were doing really good in the gallon pots I had them in...and then I finally planted them. The directions said part shade/part sun, best in morning sun with afternoon that's where I planted them. Now the 2 that have the most shade are wilting, but the one in full sun all day is thriving. Anyone have any ideas on what I can do to help the two plants in the shade...aside from transplanting them? I really don't want to have to dig them up and find another place to put them. *sigh*

So the new renters in the house just east of us seemed like such nice people. Much better than the last renter. The wife even sent over a sample of her cooking, shrimp and spanish rice (it was really good). They seem really friendly. But over the last couple of weeks I've noticed that they let their miniature poodle relieve itself on our lawn...not the lawn in front of their house...and they never pick it up! I tried talking to them about it but they just blew me off. I clean up after my dog, I don't feel like cleaning up after someone else's. When I mail in my homeowners dues I'm sending a letter to the association to send someone to the neighbors to explain what the HOA rules are about pets and the clean up of their waste. Until then I'm just going to use my garden trowel and flip the little doggie leavings onto their lawn...I hate being childish but I'm not going to clean up after their stupid poodle.

On the bright side, our neighbors directly to the west of us dug out a flower bed in front of their house and lined it with nice garden border bricks and planted some flowers. The neighbor hood is SLOWLY getting less trashy.

I recorded a Notice of Trustee's Sale today. This property is located in the Summer Home site in Logan Canyon where my parents have a cabin. The building on the property burned down a few years ago and as of the last trip I took up there (last summer) nothing was built on the property except for a tool shed. The property is:

The Trustee's Sale will take place in front of the Cache County Courts (135 N. 100 W., Logan) on July 1, 2008 at 10am. If you are interested in bidding, here are some things you should keep in mind.

*If you are the highest bidder, you have to give them a cashier's cheque for $5,000 the day of the sale and proof of funding, and you have to come up with the rest of the balance due within 24 hours.

*This lot is actually a long term lease from the Forest Service. They have final say on what you can build, how big it is, what color it can be, what materials you can use, what you can and can't do to the surrounding trees/landscape etc.

If this lot actually makes it to the sale and you are bidding, good luck!

Well its finally June, May seemed to drag on forever. The lilacs are out in abundance and my mom cut a bunch of hers and sent them into our office. The smell is incredible.
