So yesterday (Saturday, March 28th) was a beautiful sunny day, 45F, with a warm breeze. I took the dogs for a walk and wound up walking the 2 miles to my sister Kristeen's house. Here are some photos from along the way.

The north wall of an old shed.

These icicles were in a spot where they never got direct sun but even they were melting.

Apparently a house divided can stand, it just leans a bit.

This is all that was left of most of the snow...90% dirt 5% debry 5% ice.

It was really nice to get out, I was hoping today would be more of the same. But then I got up to take Molly out and this is what we found.

Then we got ready to go to my cousin's son's missionary homecoming. My cousin Deon kept telling me that the church was right by Preston Watts place in Smithfield. We went to 5 different churches in Smithfield and couldn't find the right one. So we just drove around a while looking at houses and then headed home.

This is one of those days that it would have been best to stay in bed with the covers up over my head.

Walk to Iraq

As most of you know, Mike is in the USMC Reserves, Fox Company 2/23. Fox Company is deploying to Iraq, in fact some of them are already there. Mike isn't physically able to deploy at this time, but we are still keeping track of what's going on since many of his friends are going.

There is a fun fitness program for friends, families, and neighbors of Fox Company, even strangers who care and want to be involved. It is called "Walk to Iraq".

The goal is for everyone start walking and keep track of how far they walk and turn in how many miles they walked each week at the end of every month, by the end of deployment they want to have logged enough miles to have walked the equivalent distance from Salt Lake to Iraq, and back.

Walk to Iraq officialy starts this Wednesday, April 1st and will end when Fox Company comes home. ANYONE can participate, whether you know someone in Fox or not.

Here is the email I received today from the organizer of the walk:

Family and Friends,

It is about that time! You are going to start receiving emails from me about once or twice a month.

We will begin our walking(running, biking, swimming, etc) on April 1st. Starting then you can start tracking how many miles you complete each week. At the beginning of each month I will email you and ask for your total. All you will need to send me is your name and total mileage for the previous month.

You can track your mileage on the chart attached to this email. You do not need to send it to me, it is for your convenience.

If there is anyone else you know of who would like to join us for the Walk to Iraq have them send an email to this address and I will get them signed up. Remember-anyone can participate: young, old, family, friend, neighbor, stranger! The more the merrier.

Thank you so much for participating. Check the website for more updates www.fox223families.blogspot.com
Happy Walking!

I would post the chart she sent, but I can't figure out how to get it onto blogger since its not in a photo format.
