The best tamales in Logan are at Ranchera Market. They make them from scratch a couple times a week (usually Mondays and Wednesdays) and sell them for $1 a piece.

What I really love is that on tamale days in the evenings they go door to door in my neighborhood (Victorian Village) and sell them in bags of 6. If you buy 2 bags (one dozen tamales) it is $11.

They usually have jalapeno cheese, chicken, and pork. Pork is the favorite in our house. The beauty is that you can eat these alone or with just about any topping you like...salsa, enchilada sauce, sour cream, queso fresco, mole, chili verde, gaucamole, or I've even seen the original Idaho sin - Ranch dressing.

Call them to find out when they will be making tamales next and then stop buy their store at the corner of 100 North and 100 West in Logan to pick them up, or arrange to have them come to your neighborhood, Phone: 435-753-9136.

Because there is nothing better than standing around your kitchen in holey yoga pants and a ratty hoodie with wet hair at 8pm on laundry night wondering what you are going to make, only to be saved by a knock on the door and package of steaming hot tamales! (Not that I'd know from experience, or anything...)
