OLRC REVIVAL: LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS
A Lyric favorite returns in this comedy-horror musical. Down and out on Skid Row, Seymour Krelborn hits a streak of luck when he discovers a strange and interesting plant that could be his ticket to fame and the affections of the woman he secretly loves--but at what price? Soon, the strange features of Seymour's freakish fauna spin the lives of the colorful and desperate characters at Mushnik's Skid Row Florists out of control. Little Shop of Horrors is bursting with energy backed by a trio of “doo-wop” singers. Website: arts.usu.edu Where: Caine Lyric Theatre, 28 W Center, Logan. When: Friday and Saturday at 7:30pm. THE FOREIGNER
The Heritage Community Theatre in Perry presents "The Foreigner". The scene is a fishing lodge in rural Georgia often visited by "Froggy" LeSeuer, a British demolition expert who occasionally runs training sessions at a nearby army base. This time "Froggy" has brought along a friend, a pathologically shy young man named Charlie who is overcome with fear at the thought of making conversation with strangers. So "Froggy," before departing, tells all assembled that Charlie is from an exotic foreign country and speaks no English. Once alone the fun really begins, as Charlie overhears more than he should—the evil plans of a sinister, two-faced minister and his redneck associate; the fact that the minister's pretty fiancée is pregnant; and many other damaging revelations made with the thought that Charlie doesn't understand a word being said. That he does fuels the nonstop hilarity of the play and sets up the wildly funny climax in which things go uproariously awry for the "bad guys," and the "good guys" emerge triumphant. Where: Heritage Theater, 2505 S Hwy 89, Perry, UT. When: Mon, Fri, Sat from October 7th -29th at 7:30pm, matinee October 15th at 2pm. Cost: Adults: $9, Seniors $8, Children 3-12 $8, Children under 3 not allowed. Website: http://www.heritagetheatreutah.com/index.html
