Ham Glaze

This is a delicious, quick, and easy glaze you can bake on any ham.

Ham Glaze

1 stick Salted Butter
1 cup Root Beer
2 cups Brown Sugar
1/2 cup Honey
1 TBSP Apple Cider Vinegar
1 TBSP Ground Mustard
1/2 tsp Cayenne Pepper
1/2 tsp Ground Cloves
1/2 tsp Ground Nutmeg

In a glass bowl melt the butter in the microwave. Whisk the rest of the ingredients in the melted butter until thoroughly combined.

Score the ham by making shallow diagonal cuts going from top left to bottom right, spaced about 2 inches apart, once you've gone all the way around make more shallow diagonal cuts going from top right to bottom left to make a diamond pattern.

Completely coat ham in glaze, making sure to rub it into the scoring and bake according to the instructions on its packaging. Baste ham every 20-30 minutes while it is baking. When the ham is almost done baste one last time and turn the oven up to 450F and let bake for 10 minutes uncovered.

Slice up any leftovers and layer them in an airtight container. Strain the leftover glaze from the bottom of the roasting pan and spoon some between each layer of ham. Excellent plain cold or reheated or in a sandwich.
