Hug a Veteran!

This Veterans Day, Friday November 11th, take time to remember those who have fought for freedom. If you get a chance thank a veteran, there are so many it won't be hard to find one.

On why we observe this day...

Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marines, duty, reserve, national guard...WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, home front...they have served in so many ways and in so many places.

Hug these service men and women and let them know you appreciate their sacrifices.

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie,
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

A special thanks to the veterans that are still in my life...Dad, "Uncle" Jim, Uncle Del, and Uncle Tom.
