PARADE OF GINGERBREAD HOMES
The 12th Annual Historic Downtown Logan "Parade of Gingerbread Homes" is a contest that displays gingerbread house entries at downtown businesses from December 2nd through December 30th. The public is invited to vote for their favorite Gingerbread House beginning December 2nd through December 16th. Each entry will have a chance to win one of three $100 Grand Prizes for the "Best of Show." The gingerbread homes will be on display at Anderson's Seed and Garden, The Beehive Grill, The Book Table, Center Street Salon, Coppin's Hallmark, The Diamond Gallery, Indian Oven, Life Style Homes, Peewee's Sweets, SE Needham, The Sportsman, Stork Landing, and U&I Furniture. KA-POW! GRAPHIC NOVEL EXHIBITION
The Merrill-Cazier Library is presenting Ka-pow! Graphic Novels, an exhibition on graphic novels used in academia. It will be shown in the atrium of the Merrill-Cazier Library from Oct. 24 through Dec. 10. A formal opening reception is Thursday, Nov. 10, at 4 p.m. in room 101 of the Library where several USU professors will discuss the use of graphic novels in their current classroom curriculum. USU FESTIVAL OF TREES
Come look at an amazing display of artificial trees decorated for the Holiday season. All of the donated trees will then go to families in need all over the valley. Make sure you check us out throughout the week for the opportunity to get free drinks, snacks, and for fun activities! When: Monday December 5th through Saturday December 10th from 10am to 9pm. TEEN TUESDAY: SO CRAFTY!
Looking for something fun to do after school? Then come to the library for Teen Tuesdays. We'll be doing something fun every Tuesday at 4:00 pm. If you like to create things or show off your artistic skills, this activity is for you. On the first Tuesday of each month we'll make a different craft. Some months we'll recycle cereal boxes into pencil cases. Other months we'll make wallets out of duct tape. Every month we'll have fun, and you'll get a creation to take home. NORTH LOGAN LIBRARY VISITING AUTHOR
Timothy Ballard is the author of "The American Covenant- One Nation Under God"- he currently works for the FBI in Southern California and is a former CIA agent. He is coming to the North Logan Library Dec 6th to make a presentation (not specifically to sell books) about "The American Covenant". He dives into the entire history of our country and how God has played a roll in the lives and works of the leaders of the United States of America. From Columbus to recent leaders. THE BULLY PROJECT FILM SCREENING AND Q&A
The Bully Project examines America's bullying problem and follows five kids and families over the course of a school year. Stories include two families who have lost children to suicide and a mother awaiting the fate of her 14-year-old daughter who has been incarcerated after bringing a gun on her school bus. With an intimate glimpse into homes, classrooms, cafeterias and principals' offices, the film offers insight into the often cruel world of the lives of bullied children. The film screening will be followed by a Q&A session with a panel of experts and professionals in the area. This event is sponsored by the Center for Women and Gender. FREE MACEYS COOKING CLASS
Christmas Cooking! We all know that it is the meat that makes the meal! Clayton from our Maceys Meat Department will take us on a tour and show us how to pick the perfect cut. He will also teach us how to cook prime rib and steaks to perfection, AND he will let us sample some of that mouth watering goodness. When: Tuesday at 7pm. Cost: Free! THE CMSL PRESENTS: ANONYMOUS 4
The Chamber Music Society of Logan presents Anonymous 4, live in concert at the USU Performance Hall. Anonymous 4 is a female a cappella quartet, based in New York City, that has become one of the most popular and respected small vocal groups specializing in early music, although they also premier works by living composers. The group has attained the elusive combination of popularity and respect through its unique blend of creativity and scholarly/historical depth. Cost: Adults $24, Students $10. OLD SKOOL SKATE NIGHT
The Cache Valley Fun Park hosts Old Skool Skate Night! It starts at 9pm -11 pm. This day is also $2 Tuesday, so any activity this day costs only $2! Befriending the Fun Park on Facebook can give you great deals (especially on Old Skool Night) if you check their page before heading in.
