FORGOTTEN PHOTOGRAPHS OF THE UNION PACIFIC RAILROAD
The exhibit, assembled by Special Collections and Archives Photograph Curator Daniel Davis, explores the history of the Union Pacific Railroad through photographs of A. J. Russell. The exhibit presents several of the well-known and idealized scenes of the railroad’s construction (1868-69) as photographed by Russell while under the commission of the Union Pacific Railroad. In addition to the well-known images, the exhibit presents examples of stereo-views taken by Russell and other photographers that offer a more complete and less sanitized version of the railroad’s history. A reception for the exhibit is planned Feb. 15 in conjunction with a lecture by Davis for the Friends of Merrill-Cazier Library. Where: The Merrill-Cazier Library. MARION R. HYDE EXHIBIT
This exhibition will highlight the most recent work of Utah State’s emeritus professor of art, Marion R. Hyde. Professor Hyde retired from the Department of Art in 2002 after more than 33 years of dedicated service that included 12 years as department head. Since retirement, Professor Hyde has been working in oil and pastel to create images that both represent and abstract the Utah landscape. We're pleased to present a wide selection of his best works to you during this opening exhibition of the 2012 season. An opening social will be held Jan. 18 at 4:30 p.m. in the Tippets Exhibit Hall. MOM OR DAD & ME ICE SKATING
Mom or Dad & Me sessions are held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays at the Eccles Ice Center. Location: 2825 N. 200 East. CGOA SNOWSHOE ACTIVITY

PUBLIC SKI NIGHT @ BEAVER MOUNTAIN
Beaver Mountain is holding a public night. The Little Beaver lift will run from 5PM-9PM. Tickets are $10 (season passes are not good at night). First time beginner lessons will be taught at 5:30PM and 7PM for $8, ages 5 and up to ski and ages 7 and up to snowboard. The Café will also be open that night. FAMILY NIGHT ICE SKATING

FILM SCREENING @ USU
The USU Counseling and Psychological Services Center is sponsoring the screening of the film "Boys and Men Healing" on January 30th, 6:30 PM. The film depicts the healing journey of men and boys who have survived sexual abuse. We hoped that screening the film would raise community awareness and provide an opportunity for survivors and those that know a survivor to have a forum to discuss the issue. We will screen the film and Jim Struve (an LCSW specializing in treatment of child sexual abuse) and a pair of male survivors will lead a panel discussion and answer questions from the audience. Counselors will be on hand for the screening as well in the event anyone should need support. Where: USU Taggart Student Center Auditorium. Cost: Free!

COSMIC BOWLING
The Cache Valley Fun Park offers Cosmic Bowling every Monday from 7pm until close. Bowling prices start at 3pm. Location: 255 E 1770 N, North Logan.
