USU STUDENT ART SALE
USU Art students will again be offering some of their best work for sale to the campus community during Arts Week 2012. POSTER EXHIBIT: DISABILITY HISTORY
The exhibit includes panels that outline the history of disability and advocacy. This walk through 3000 years of the human condition is remarkably detailed. It’s sometimes shocking, sometimes poignant, and always informative. Location: Merrill-Cazier Library, Room: 034 (Special Collections area in the basement level). Open To: Public. MARION J. HYDE EXHIBIT
This exhibition will highlight the most recent work of Utah State’s emeritus professor of art, Marion R. Hyde. Professor Hyde retired from the Department of Art in 2002 after more than 33 years of dedicated service that included 12 years as department head. Since retirement, Professor Hyde has been working in oil and pastel to create images that both represent and abstract the Utah landscape. We're pleased to present a wide selection of his best works to you during this opening exhibition of the 2012 season. An opening social will be held Jan. 18 at 4:30 p.m. in the Tippets Exhibit Hall. MIGHTY ME WORKSHOP

THE KIGER HOUR
Join us Thursday, Jan. 19, for an hour of good food, good company, intellectual engagement, and a TimePiece by Dr. Christa Jones, assistant Professor of French in the Department of Languages, Philosophy, and Speech Communication. The TimePiece is entitled - Rai and Politics don't mix - Musical Resistance During the Algerian Civil War. It will be held at Hamilton's Steak and Seafood in the Accolade Event Room. The social hour begins at 5:15 p.m., the TimePiece begins at 6 p.m. The cost is $6.95 per person (plus tax and gratuituy) appetizer buffet which will be billed on an individual basis. Guests will also be able to order off the regular menu if desired. Dr. Jones has published numerous articles and book chapters on Francophone North African Francophone literature, cinema and music in peer-reviewed journals such as Contemporary French and Francophone Studies, Expressions Maghrébines, Francofonia, Nouvelles Etudes Francophones, Women Studies Quarterly, and others.
