But on a brighter note, a classic valley restaurant has been reopened! The Cracker Barrel Cafe (not to be confused with the Cracker Barrel chain of restaurants, completely different) has re-opened in beautiful, rural Paradise. They had a soft opening throughout the month of August and from all reports are doing quite well.
The new owner is also a co-owner of Old Grist Mill, and the new chef used to be the chef at Belle Monte restaurant at Sherwood Hills Resort. They are open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner Monday through Saturdays and their breakfast menu will be available all day. As previous incarnations of the CBC have done, they will serve prime rib on Fridays and Saturdays. One of my sources says the menu is large and eclectic featuring favorites you might find on the menu at Angie's or The Coppermill, as well mexican specialties and some sushi rolls.
You should definitely try this restaurant. Set aside time in the next few weeks to take the buccolic drive South. Go to Paradise Valley Orchard and pick some amazing apples or buy some of their crisp and tart fresh pressed apple cider, then stop in at the CBC for dinner. Make sure to let me know what you think!
